Lovely. Really loved how you portray this picture. Love the painting feel on it as well. Nicely done!
P.S. the painting on the left, in somewhat way, reminded me of "The Scream" by Edvard Munch.

Well Munch or Kirchner, it's expressionism either way.

Art is therapy. It's good that you're getting this stuff out there, and even better that it's producing such beautiful work. It's powerful moving stuff like this that makes deviantart still a worthy hangout.

bah, quand on est modeste et perfectionniste, forcément, la satisfaction est difficile à atteindre :)

Merci, je vais rougir! Sérieusement, il m'arrive d'être content de mes dessins, beaucoup plus rarement de mes peintures.

I've made a series of eight comic strips about the first part of that relationship: [link]

Basically, she used me when she needed support after her mother's death, and when I wasn't useful anymore, she let the relationship rot until I had no choice but to put an end to it. Then she went back to her violent boyfriend, and acted as if nothing happened. I've been on therapy ever since.

How joyful...

Is therapy helping?

This is really good. What program did you use?

It's almost Chagall-like, in small ways.

Thank you! I used Painter X, which is what I use for 30-40% of my drawings.

needs to be more aggressive/expressive to be like kirchner, get some more straight lines in there, black eyes are another feature in his work.

Thank you, and you're right, although obviously this is my work, and Kirchner was just an inspiration.

ok, i didn't know how far you wanted to abstract your own style, if it was just inspiration or imitation :p

No, I've done some straight pastiches in the past, but here German expressionism was just a starting point.
