New Wonder Woman

Description

My little Wonder Woman project has wandered off quite a bit since I've posted the first couple of deviations. Initially, I just wanted to redesign a character which I felt had a ridiculous costume, despite her status as a pop culture icon. After a while, I just kept drawing different iterations of Wonder Woman, without trying to improve on the original.

For this final installment, it's back to square one as I try to produce the best Wonder Woman costume I can imagine. I've addressed all the issues I have with the original costume: the haphazard use of color of the classic costume has been replaced by a more deliberate color scheme, with a dark blue used on the shoulders as well as the short shorts. The original WW costume has three different symbols (white stars, a red star and a WW/eagle logo): I've only kept the white stars, which I've used more sparingly, and replaced the WW symbol with a WW "wave". This design, in my opinion, looks more dignified than her bathing suit while still being sexy and feminine. She looks like a superheroine and, more importantly, she looks like Wonder Woman.

It's, by far, my favorite redesign of the character and I don't think I can top it. I hope you like it! ;)

Next: Batgirl

She reminds me of Katy Perry in this picture (circa "I Kissed A Girl")!
