Diana Prince by The-Mirrorball-Man Diana Prince by The-Mirrorball-Man
For some reason that escapes me, I've drawn Wonder Woman over and over again (alright, basically, I hate her costume). My good friend *zamfir thought my first couple of designs were too impractical, and suggested that I draw something a human being could actually wear in real life. This was my first attempt, but he challenged me to go one step further.

So this is Wonder Woman wearing something practical, that still somehow evokes her original outfit. Yeah, she does look a bit like a prosolar mechanic. :hmm:

Still, it's pretty good, isn't it? :excited:

:pointr: You can see other Wonder Woman redesigns in my Wonder Woman gallery.

Is it weird that i think that Diana look more attractive in that outfit instead of her original one?

To each their own, I suppose. It's not weird.

Well, at least her skin's not so unexposed = more protected from most attacks...and sunburns :XD:

True, although I'd bet that Wonder Woman's skin is harder than her clothes. :D

Love the outfit! but maybe instead of goggles yu could make a helmet/mask/tiara or a combination of tiara and the goggles could make this pic even better (which is almost impossible; the fact that i thought of something is a minor miracle in and of itself)

Thank you! This particular design is meant to be practical, so that's why I replaced the tiara with goggles. Can't say I'm a big fan of the tiara to begin with, actually. ;p

well, if you think about it; its NOT just a tiara, its a piece of armor meant to protect that special little squishy BRAIN-thing, and you COULD really redesign it to your liking; you would make it look WICKED COOL

It's really nice to see a superhero costume (especially for a woman) that looks practical rather than just sexy. The only problems I have with this are her belt which hangs too low (trust me, it'd be almost impossible to walk with that) and the boots which look too heavy to be really practical. If you could simplify the boots by leaving out the heavy-looking belts and making the soles less thick, it'd be perfect.

Thank you! :)

Of course, I'm aware that there are aspects of this design that don't look very practical, but I thought they looked cool. The problem you ultimately have when you're trying to design a superhero costume that looks totally practical is that you realize that no sane person would ever wear anything that looks remotely like a superhero costume, and you end up drawing a boring military uniform. ;)

Bad ass. Pure and simple. This is Wonder Woman from a steam punk Elseworlds. Would like to see the bracers though.

Wow!

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, although from my perspective, the W-motif, the red stars, the golden parts of the costume and the lasso have nothing to do with Captain America and everything to do with Wonder Woman.

:lmao: Then it's very positive! :D I think it's a cool, sexy design, and it makes me think of the WW theme from the tv show ("Wonder womaaaaaaaan!"), but I totally think that it's unpractical, but I guess in those years they only cared about designing colorful costumes, and not much more. =P

I don't really mind that it's impractical. Some of my WW redesigns are even worse. What I don't like about Wonder Woman's costume is all the bright, clashing colors used randomly and struggling for our attention, and the haphazard use of symbols, white stars, red stars, "W", eagles, etc. Frankly, it's a mess.

Yes, I agree about that-- for some reason it don't seem to be a problem for WW in my eyes, but that might only be because of just getting used, I guess... anyways, I suppose that type of coloring was sort of like the rule back in the 40s, and on the other hand, I guess it's probably a very North American thing. I get the feeling, from the outside, that they really like everything that has clashing colors, explosions, etc. :faint: So maybe WW's design is in a way a bit of a cultural thing... by the way, I always thought that her costume was a bit of a play on the U.S. flag, kind of like Capt. America.
